A little about Ben:

I'm 30 years old and have been sailing since I was 9. I started on Lakes after Primary School and became a Dinghy Instructor in the Greek Islands when I was 16. I then became a Catamaran endorsed instructor and had two Greek seasons under my belt.
Went to College for three years studying a National Diploma in Adventure Sports (have you ever herd of that?) and specialised in Sailing (obviously). I became a freelance Instructor in Rock climbing, skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, mountaineering, and kayaking. I was awarded student of the year!

Boats got bigger for me and my next move that came from the London Boat show was working as a Yacht Skipper Instructor in the same set of Greek islands. After that very successful year I was on the hunt for something bigger.

I was found by a company in the Dodecanese islands, they have two 55ft sailing yachts and a very similar set up to my last company Activity Holidays Greece. I found it very natural to move into the role of running a 55ft sailing yacht by myself. It's not an instructional holiday but I like to offer my skills to teach those who want to be taught if that makes their holiday.

In the winters my other love is to race sailing yachts in different parts of the world. My position is usually Bowman or helmsman but I have been known to work all over the boat. I also deliver yachts around the world for various companies (for a bit of cash).

As of 2011 I'm a fully qualified Royal Yachting Association (R.Y.A.) Commercially Endorsed Cruising Instructor. I love to be on the water and show people the way sailing can really make you feel, everything from freedom, adventure, peacefulness, adrenalin and accomplishment.

2014 I now own Activity Holidays Greece and have two yachts!
