The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Musculoskeletal Trauma, University of Thessalia , Faculty of Health Sciences, School of Medicine , has been established in the newly developed University Hospital of Larissa in September 1999. The Medical School is located in the town Larissa. It is the newest Medical School in Greece .
The University Hospital of Larissa (UHL) is the newest Hospital (700 beds) in our country with modern technological facilities near the town of Larissa . It is a Teaching Hospital in accordance to European standards and it offers tertiary care to the people of Thessalia and central Greece (population 1.000.000) as a referral center functionally connected to the rest of the County Hospitals of Central Greece . It also offers clinical experience and training to the students of the Medical School and to residents of all Medical Specialties. The Hospital opened for patients and the Orthopaedic Department was established in September 1999.
