THYMIO PAPAYANNIS AND ASSOCIATES INC (TPA) has been providing technical and social services in the fields of planning, architecture and engineering in Greece and abroad, since 1959.
The main objective of its activities is a holistic approach in the design and management of space within the framework of sustainability. The firm is among the few in Greece to provide integrated services in the fields of urban and spatial planning, architecture, landscaping, civil engineering, electrical and mechanical engineering and environmental science. With a total staff of 60 partners and associates, TPA have espoused and developed a high sense of professional competence, social responsibility and environmental sensitivity.
The Firm was founded by its Chairman, Thymio Papayannis, architect, planner and environmentalist. Thymio Papayannis, has led a large number of architectural, land and urban planning studies. Among his most significant projects in Greece are the National Spatial Plan of Greece (acting as coordinator) and the Falero Bay Regeneration Project, which also included an Interim Phase for the Athens 2004 Olympics. In 2009, he was awarded an honorary doctorate by Athens Agricultural University for his contribution to the preservation of the environment. He was one of the two founders of WWF Greece, where he has served as President between 1996-2004, 2005-2006 and 2009-2011.
